Schemel Family Award

Gibby Halloran and Phillip Schemel moved to Westport in 1993 shortly after they were married. Their daughter and son obtained outstanding educations in the Westport Public School system from kindergarten through Staples High School. Phillip served on the Staples Tuition Grants board, and has appreciated that endowed awards such as this one reduce student financial burdens so talented Staples students can pursue academic ambitions and become responsible and contributing members of their communities.
