As Chair of the Westport Board of Education from 2019 to 2021, Candice Savin, a mother of two Staples graduates, stepped up to lead the district through the immense challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. This award, established by her family in recognition of her commitment to public service, supports the educational ambitions of young women who have been leaders in the Staples community.
