80th Anniversary Community Award

Created in 2023, the 80th Anniversary Community Award commemorates the founding of Staples Tuition Grants (STG), which began in 1943 with a $100 donation from the Staples High School PTA. Since then, STG has helped thousands of Staples High School graduates pay for college by helping close the gap between the costs they face and the amount students can afford. None of this would be possible without the help and commitment of countless Westporters, families, and various organizations supporting STG’s purpose. The 80th Anniversary Community Award is a way to celebrate this vibrant community that values STG’s mission and supports Staples graduates pursuing their dreams of higher education during the past 80 years and into the future.
